Hessenthaler frustrated by JPT loss

Gills boss Andy Hessenthaler is demanding his players drop the bad habits after they lost 3-1 to Barnet in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

Hessenthaler was disappointed to lose but described the Gills’ first-half performance as their best 45 minutes of the season.

“We were dominant first half and the game should have been over at half-time,” he said.

“Typical us, we have a great half and then a bad half, we can’t play consistently over 90 minutes for some reason.

“The first half was the best football we’ve played but we didn’t take our opportunities.

“It’s not the end of the world because we are four points off third but it’s good habits we want, we’ve got to get it sorted out.”
